#1. Know your “why.”
Why do you wake up in the morning? What difference or impact would you like to have in the next 24 hours? What’s the reason for your resolution? Maybe you want more energy so you can play with your kids or grandkids, or you want to lose significant weight so you can be around for your family.
#2. Who are your team members who can support you in this journey?
Maybe it’s your spouse, close friend, or your workout partner at the gym. It’s much easier to achieve your goals or resolutions when you have someone walking alongside you on your journey. One of our patients is a corporate CEO who considers Satori Spinal Wisdom, LLC a member of her whole team that supports her so she can perform at her optimum level for her company.
#3. Ensure you have a healthy spine
Another patient, a young mom, recognizes that when your spine is straight, everything falls into place. A healthy spine is crucial, as it allows energy, information, hormones and nutrition to flow through you. “It’s like the main operating software system when you turn on your computer. When it runs, it does so smoothly, without you even needing to think about it,” said Dr. Siow.
When your nervous system is healthy, energy flows efficiently. When that happens, your mind is alert; you think clearer, make healthier choices and plan accordingly, everything moves easier as a result of little or no resistance.
#4. Consistency is key
A single workout at the gym won’t yield much benefit, nor will eating just one serving of broccoli. Conversely, exercising regularly and making healthy eating a daily priority will have considerable health benefits. Success is a choice. Healthy spine gets you there. One of our patients, a senior, noticed on his X-rays how much straighter his spine is due to regular network chiropractic care. That’s because he’s been consistent with care.
Give Yourself a Break
Always be kind to yourself and know that it’s okay if you experience setbacks while working toward your goal. If you didn’t do your workout today, do it tomorrow. Indulged in one too many treats? Get back on your healthy eating plan the next day. Wherever you’ve been unsuccessful, forgive yourself and get back on track tomorrow or the next day. You can achieve your goals.
Celebrate Your Successes-Big & Small
Some people think they’ll be happy when they achieve something big, like landing their dream job, purchasing that big, beautiful house or luxury car, or retiring and never having to think about work again. It’s important to know that you can find happiness in the smallest of things.
One of our patients saw Dr. Siow around the same time last year to help get healthy before having open heart surgery, and continued with care post surgery. This year, the same patient is in such good shape that he could ski four days straight. That’s quite a success and something to celebrate!
When you’re feeling uplifted you’ll have the energy to move forward on your path to success this year and beyond!
